MICHAEL GAITAN

Michael Gaitan is a fashion designer, costume technician, and educator with over a decade of experience spanning luxury fashion, entertainment, and arts education. His career has included collaborations with renowned fashion houses such as Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, and Loewe, contributing to couture garments, custom pieces, and costume projects for internationally recognized artists and actors, including Robert Pattinson, Eva Victor, Beyoncé, Shakira, and Charli XCX. His work has been part of productions associated with the Met Gala, the Cannes Film Festival, the Golden Globe Awards, world tours, television productions, and live entertainment. In addition to his industry experience, Michael previously spent eight years with the City of Los Angeles leading LA Kids, a citywide arts education program that provided free arts and cultural classes to at-risk youth and low-income communities. Michael is excited to begin teaching Fashion Design at LACHSA, bringing real-world industry experience into the classroom. Students will learn professional techniques, industry-standard practices, and creative processes that prepare them for higher education and careers in fashion.
