Cindy Ricalde trained at the Joffrey school in NYC and the National Academy of the Arts, as well as modern and jazz styles, Cindy Ricalde began her professional dance career at age 17 as a dancer with William Carter of American Ballet Theater. She has appeared as a soloist in productions including La Bayadere, Mid Summers Night’s Dream, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, and Carmen and was nominated for an award as dancer of the year by the So Cal Arts and Culture for her leading role in The House of Bernarda Alba. In addition, she has danced with the Ohio Ballet works of Heinz Poll, Laura Dean, Pilobolus and Paul Taylor. Besides her work on stage, Cindy’s career has encompassed film, television, and music videos. More recently Cindy has worked as a choreographer and teacher. Her choreography is featured in Disney’s Saving Mr. Banks. Prior to assuming her role at LACHSA, Cindy taught for over a decade on the national dance convention for LADM, Tremaine and West Coast Dance, as well as at AMDA LA College Conservatory and the Orange County Performing Arts Academy
