Cindy Ricalde began her career training at the National Academy of the Arts and the Joffrey Ballet in NYC. Starting a professional ballet career at the of 17, as a Dancer with William Carter of American Ballet Theater, Cindy spent 4 years in Mexico City touring nationally with Compañia National de Teatro, productions with Televisa and National Musical Theater tours. Cindy studied and danced as a principal dancer with USIU and began teaching on the Faculty at United States International University in San Diego while under the direction of the Steven and Elizabeth Wistritch formerly of Stuttgart Ballet. She has danced with the Ohio Ballet under the direction of Heinz Poll and as freelance guest artist for several Ballet Companies within the US.
Throughout her years of performing, Cindy established a choreography, teaching, and coaching career. She taught for over 10 years on national touring dance conventions including LA Dance Magic, Tremaine Dance Conventions, and West Coast Dance Explosion. She trained and coached actress Julia Stiles for the film Save the Last Dance and she was a guest teacher for the dancers in Celine Dion’s Las Vegas production A New Day. As assistant choreographer to Travis Payne, Cindy danced in Mandy Moore’s music video for music from the film Center Stage. She was also assistant choreographer to Sergio Trujillo with Ballet Hispanico in New York City. Her most recent choreography is featured in the Maypole scene in Disney’s Saving Mr. Banks. She is currently a faculty member at Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in Los Angeles and continues to teach and choreograph at studios in Southern California and abroad.
