LACHSA is a tuition free public school operating under the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE). A prospective LACHSA student shows strong academic as well as demonstrated artistic skill in one of five disciplines: Cinematic Arts, Dance, Music, Theatre or Visual Arts.

Our student body reflects the diversity of Los Angeles County and welcomes students from over 85 different school districts and over 350 different middle schools and high schools. Admissions to LACHSA is determined by an academic review and by live audition or portfolio review.

In reviewing applications for admission, evidence of the following qualities is sought:
  • demonstrated skill and potential in the arts;
  • the commitment and self-discipline to advance in both artistic and academic studies;
  • and the ability to contribute to building a successful, supportive and inclusive school community.
Thank you for your interest. We look forward to seeing you at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.
