It is my privilege and honor to lead one of the most exciting and dynamic schools anywhere! LACHSA is now entering its next quarter century and we are as committed as ever to strengthening this world-class school. As we enter this year we are determined to continue to strengthen our communication and decision-making structures so that all stakeholders feel their voices, concerns, and suggestions are heard. As an educational and arts institution our school-wide focus is simple: to take a great school from excellence to eminence. We are committed to sustaining LACHSA's place as a leader in arts and academics. To this end, I want to share with you our essential guiding question that guides our work this upcoming year.
Essential Guiding Question
How do we continue to develop and sustain a stable learning community with strong communication and relationships in order to improve student engagement and increase student achievement?
With our essential guiding question as our frame, I would like to share our school-wide goals for the year:
Goal #1: We will continue to sustain our professional culture that collaboratively examines teaching, learning, and assessment practices—this includes a focus on technology, examining and analyzing data, and looking at student work.
Goal #2: We will
continue to focus on developing and strengthening our student support
structures.
